This course features the writing of women from a variety of genres. Students examine how various works voice similar and/or differing concerns depending on each writer’s race, class, nationality, gender identity, and sexual orientation. Reading selections focus on various subjects represented in women’s literature from different historical periods (concentrated on the twentieth century through the present). Film selections may be included to accompany the literary texts. Prerequisite: ENGL110G College Composition I or ENGL111G College Comp I with Lab. (Fulfills English or Humanities requirement.) Fall semester

This course is designed to help students develop professionalism and the ability to produce documents that can communicate technical information effectively and efficiently while fostering a critical analysis of discourse and technology. This course emphasizes the importance of rhetorical analysis, audience, document design, and visual rhetoric as well as the use of technology in designing, developing, and delivering documents. Extra attention to universal design principles will be incorporated into course projects.

Prerequisite: ENGL110G or ENGL111G or equivalent. (Fulfills English requirement.)
